Uncommon Workshops

Exploring, Experimenting, and Learning Together

Here’s the idea: regular, recurring events and workshops held all around the Tokyo area to help introduce people—residents and visitors alike—to new ideas and approaches for better exploring and appreciating the city around them.

While my standard tours are focused on a more customized experience for smaller groups, Uncommon Workshops are more casual and experimental, with a larger maximum group size and a lower cost for participants (and as much as I can, I’d like to do free events).

Below is an embedded calendar that will display any upcoming events. To receive updates on new events by email, you can sign subscribe to the event calendar on Luma. This is separate from the general Somewhere in Japan mailing list.

If you have any questions, requests, or anything else, please get in touch.

I'm sorry, I also hate popups.

Unfortunately, AI summaries in search results are decimating site traffic all over the web. If you like what I’m doing, please sign up for occasional email updates and stay in the loop.

I’ll never spam you, I promise.
